Final Fantasy XIII Becomes an Ultimate Hit

After nearly a year and 1/2 since the games original Japanese release on PlayStation 3, Final Fantasy XIII is being released as a part of Square-Enix’s budget Ultimate Hits line.

That is, if you consider ¥3,990 “budget” pricing.

In addition to the original PS3 version of the game, the Xbox 360 version that was released back in December, will also be added to the Japanese equivalent of the console’s Platinum Hits collection, even though the late port failed to sell anywhere near Square-Enix’s expectations for it. The Episode i booklet that was present in the original International release will also be included, but only to those who order from Square-Enix’s e-store. No such bonus will be included in the PS3 version.

Both re-releases will be available on July 21, 2011 in Japan.
