Final Fantasy XIV’s community team have confirmed that the previously announced “FFXIV: A Realm Reborn Battle Event & Community Recap” will be a fight to the death with the primal of fire, Ifrit.

Teams who manage to quell the flames will find themselves rewarded with the very sort after “Meteor Survivor” polo shirt, much to the dismay of Final Fantasy XIV fans who have been clambering after said shirt for months. Bayohne did confirm that the content will be tuned somewhat to allow new players to easily access the fight, and that viewers should not expect a super-hard battle.

The event will be live-streamed on the aforementioned Square Enix Presents Youtube Channel on Wednesday of next week, a list of the announced times can be found here. Fans new and old are encouraged to tune into the content, perhaps we will even see the Community Reps fight alongside the public.

I for one am thoroughly excited at the prospect of seeing the new Ifrit battle; after falling dead due to many delayed plumes. It will be a refreshing sight to see how these epic battles shape up in A Realm Reborn, next week couldn’t come sooner.
