While Lightning Returns is delayed through to next year in the west, Japanese fans will still be playing it later this year, Square Enix confirms. The third and final entry in the XIII trilogy will launch on November 21st – leaving a three month gap until it arrives overseas.

In addition to a standard copy of the game, Square Enix will be offering a “Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Ultimate Box” set for the PlayStation 3.

Available through Square Enix’s eStore, his special package will include all three Final Fantasy XIII games, a selection from each game’s original soundtrack, an art book, as well as a variant version of the new Lightning Play Arts Kai figurine. All of this together will retail for ¥26,000.

The standard copy of the game will release on PS3 and Xbox 360 for ¥7,770. A digital download version will also be available on the PlayStation Network but pricing is still undecided.
