Final Fantasy VII will be available on PS4 as a digital download, priced at $15.99

Square Enix created quite a stir over the weekend when Final Fantasy series producer Shinji Hashimoto got on stage during the PlayStation Experience to announce that Final Fantasy VII would be making its way to PS4.

Instead of the oft requested HD remake, however, fans will be treated to yet another port of the game set to arrive on Sony’s newest console in Spring of next year. Today, Square Enix has clarified the game will come delivered as a digital download and will cost $15.99 at launch – a higher price than its PS1 classic brethren. As announced previously, this version of the game is a port of the PC code which means it’ll likely include Trophies aped from its existing Steam achievements, PS Share functionality and Remote Play. The official Japanese website has updated with a teaser here.
