Hitman: Release delayed to March 2016

Since its announcement at E3 2015 the next Hitman really made good impressions. To our surprise the game will have a digital launch and was initially promised to release in December already.

At Gamescom 2015 we got a closer look at the Showstopper level in Paris, but a hands-on or more gameplay was not provided. Fans wondered about the launch content and hoped for more details about the game’s beta.

Square Enix promised more information shortly after Gamescom. But then weeks passed and fans hoped in vain for more launch and beta facts during PAX Prime and Tokyo Game Show.

For some fans it may not be such a big surprise that today IO Interactive revealed that the next Hitman game will be delayed to March 2015. The developers want to use the additional time to have more content available at launch and to provide more frequent updates.

The new levels in Hitman are very large and extremely complex. That is why it takes about a year to develop a single location.

To compare the newest game with Hitman: Absolution, IO Interactive revealed this chart:

12710749089498.537.7a8f7d9e76e28bcd2e722d2b00db193e

So the Showstopper level set in Paris is six times larger than the biggest level in the previous game. The massive palace has 60 different rooms and the area sports about 100 potential accidents.

While you have to wait before you can play the final product, the wait for real information is nearly over. The studio mentioned the “full release schedule and scope of HITMAN in general” will be shared next week.
