New Hitman video dev diary "Art of Assassination" released

Main Writer Michael Vogt and Art Director Jonathan Rowe talk about building the World of Assassination for Hitman in a new two-part video dev diary.

Vogt mentions that back then video game characters were more comic-like, because the way they were shown was limited by technology, which is not the case any more. Rowe adds that Agent 47 originally wasn’t meant to be bald, but because of limitations in virtual hair design the team had no other choice while developing the first game.

The series has always been known for its black humor, but Rowe admits it’s now more tongue-in-cheek than the more brutal or grotesque one of previous games.

While major parts of Absolution and Blood Money took place in the USA, the new game brings you to exotic places, making you feel like you are actually there. IO-Interactive wants to enrich the gameplay with exotic cultures and people, as well.

The next episode of Hitman plays in the fictional Italian city Sapienza and will be released on April 26 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
