Art director Yusuke Naora leaves Square Enix

Yusuke Naora – the art director behind games such as Final Fantasy VII, VIII, X, Type-0 and Final Fantasy XV – has resigned from Square Enix. This morning he revealed on Twitter he’s no longer with the company as of September 30.

In a series of English Tweets, Naora states: “As of 30th September, I resigned [from] Square Enix, the company I worked [at] for 24 years. Yesterday, Taba-chan kindly showed me FFXV‘s ending. It was my last work, and it became the greatest ending. Everybody did fantastic! It was the finest work.

“I’ve a little regret about the release date’s [postponement], although, I was happy ’cause [it] felt like they tried to let me have honor. Even after my resignation, I will continue illustration and design works with Square Enix, and I also want to try out [many new opportunities], so I [hope] you can still support me.”

Following his departure, Naora will be returning to his home town of Izumo to be with his family.
