World of Final Fantasy details Diabolos, Crystal Tower and a Xenogears Mirage in Weekly Jump By Erren Van Duine on October 20, 2016 at 11:09 AM

woff_1020World of Final Fantasy is back in Weekly Jump with a new look at new Mirages, dungeons and more.

First up, we’ve a look at a Xenogears-themed Mirage that can transform into a jet: XG. While not specifically noted, it’s easy to tell from the naming and design that we’re looking at a Xenogears reference here. The game’s also added the classic Final Fantasy series summon Diabolos.

Additionally, the magazine reveals two new dungeons including a new take on the Crystal Tower (Final Fantasy III) and Ex-Nine Castle.

World of Final Fantasy is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on October 25 in North America, October 27 in Japan and October 28 in Europe.

HOLY SHIT!!! Square please!!! We all need a Remake of Xenogears!!! All we need a remaster of Xenosaga (speaking to Bandai Namco)!! I need to see Elly and KOS-MOS again!!

  • Why now? Xenogears was one the smartest and deepest stories in RPG history. Why now bring it up and in WoFF of all places?

Yeah! I love FF, but the Xeno myth kills the story of all FF together. Ok, Takahashi leaves Squaresoft (now SE), but… The game is still a brand of Square Enix. MAKE THE REMAKE!!

To me, I think that the “bosses” of SE have some fear about this game do very, very success today, and make FF lost the “status” tha has today. Remember: Square was going bankruptcy, Enix bought him, but even then, only the games that were the very Square are the ones that have more attention of the company. Look at the treatment of Final Fantasy and look the same for Dragon Quest?

It’s a shame… Where is Chrono Trigger? Where is a TRUE Parasite Eve?

  • Sad but true. Its not gonna happen. Maybe they wanna avoid Xeno stuff since Monolith is still making Xeno games.
