After months of waiting and anticipation, it appears Dragon Quest XI news may finally be upon us. NHK is planning a special broadcast starting December 29 at 22:00 JST to commemorate the series’ 30th anniversary – including coverage on the next mainline game.

The broadcast will focus on the appeal of the series throughout the years featuring series creator Yuji Horii, composer Koichi Sugiyama and narration by known actor and game enthusiast Takayuki Yamada. Additionally, fans can look forward to exclusive coverage at the development studio of Dragon Quest XI including the latest on the upcoming RPG.

NHK has gone up with an official website promoting the broadcast and is accepting questions for Yuji Horii.
