Dragon Quest Heroes II overseas Vita release "isn't a viable option" for Square Enix

Dragon Quest Heroes II is coming to the West, but only on PlayStation 4 despite releasing on additional platforms in Japan. Square Enix has decided not to bring over the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions, citing viability.

Square Enix Japan Studios Community Manager Dan Seto set the record straight, responding to a post on the European PlayStation Blog: “…the Vita version just isn’t a viable option for us to localise and bring over. Hopefully, you’ll still give the PS4 version a chance and enjoy it all the same.”

This practice isn’t uncommon for Square Enix, who also shed the PS3 release of the original Dragon Quest Heroes and Vita versions of other recent titles. Fans can pick up Dragon Quest Heroes II for PlayStation 4 on April 25, 2017 in North America and April 28, 2017 in Europe.
