Here's 35 glorious minutes of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age

During the game’s first official livestream, Square Enix was generous enough to show off 35 whopping minutes of gameplay from Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age featuring combat, exploration and an in-depth look at some of its other gameplay systems.

UPDATE: NeoGAF user “Rad-” has translated some of the main highlights from the live show, particularly the key gameplay changes made for the HD remaster. View them below:

  • Licenses are now “shared” meaning if players unlock one license for party members in their respective first Job License Board, they will have the same license unlocked in their respective second Job License Board. For example, if players chooses two jobs (for one party member) with both having 16 Battle Lore augments, that party member will only have 16 in total (not 32). This also means that with some license unlocks in the first Job License Board, you can jump to the second Job License Board’s “License Islands” without spending a Quickening/Summon (30LP) to get there.
  • Multiple party members can select the same job class. For example, players can have all party members assigned with the “Black Mage” class.
  • Magic queues will not make a return to Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age.

The company also announced they’re now taking in applications for catch phrases or tag-lines themed after something related to Final Fantasy XII such as old memories and characters that can be used in their upcoming “Zodiac Train” advertisement campaign.

Successful applicants will have their respective tag-lines used and prizes will be awarded to the first place and second place winners. The application period will run from April 27 to May 21.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is set to release for PlayStation 4 on July 11 in North America and July 13 in Europe.
