Dragon Quest X launches August 17 for PS4 and September 21 for Nintendo Switch in Japan

Dragon Quest X is set to release for PlayStation 4 on August 17 and Nintendo Switch on September 21 in Japan, Square Enix revealed today during a special livestream event for the game.

Both versions of the MMORPG will be priced at ¥4,800 and ship as the “All in One Package” edition which comes bundled with the major game updates of Version 1, Version 2 and Version 3.

For the monthly subscription fee, domestic PS4 users will have to pay ¥1,500 per month for the use of five characters, while Switch users will have to pay between ¥1,000 and ¥1,500 per month to use three to five characters.

Before the release, a beta test for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch version will be held from July 19 to August. Keen players can apply for their beta access here.

In the same live event, Square Enix also showed off in-game footage of Dragon Quest X running on both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
