Kingdom Hearts III received an update last night on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that added a much-anticipated Critical Mode as well as some other new features.
Some of those include an update to the Workshop menu where the Synthesize Items section will now display a green check mark for items you create, which helps toward completing the Gummiphone. The Frozen Slider mini-game will display what treasures you have collected when you finish a course, which will help you narrow down what’s missing. The upper limit for photos has now been increased to 200 as well.
When starting a new game, you will have the option of using an existing save data to import any keyblades and selfie poses you’ve previously collected. Critical Mode tweaks a lot of things, including what abilities Sora has access to and when. Right out of the gate you’ll have one called ‘Critical Converter’ that will disable attraction commands and instead always enable a formchange command when filled. Certain battles may still have attraction commands available.
Other small fixes have been made, including additional help text.
