A Dragon Quest XI S demo is coming to Japan; bonus rewards and more

At a stage event during this year’s Dragon Quest Summer Festival in Tokyo, Japan, Square Enix revealed a demo for Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition will be coming to Nintendo Switch.

A release date has yet to be announced, but the company did reveal some new and interesting tidbits regarding the full game.

Read the full details below:

Demo Bonus Rewards

Those who keep ahold of their save data from the demo will receive a bonus Skill Seed when they play the full game. Playing through the demo and creating a save data will also net you the premium hero card “The One Descended from Erdrick [S]” as a bonus for the Switch version of Dragon Quest Rivals, a free-to-play card battle game.

Dragon Quest X World

The world of Dragon Quest X will make an appearance in Dragon Quest XI S as one of the past Dragon Quest worlds players can travel to.

New Erik Costume

Party member Erik will receive a new costume for players to equip in Dragon Quest XI S. The “North Leather Style” outfit is based off from the character’s appearance in the one-shot manga by Hiro Mashima that will debut in the August 21 issue of V-Jump magazine. It can be obtained by redeeming a download code included as a bonus with a “certain book” that has yet to be announced.

Enhanced “Draconian Quest”

In addition to a new past world, Dragon Quest XI S will feature an enhanced “Draconian Quest”. With “Super Shypox” enabled, all party members are inflicted with the “Shypox” spell this time.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is set to release worldwide on September 27 for Nintendo Switch.
