Final Fantasy XIV 5.15 arrives tomorrow with Blue Mage and PvP updates

Final Fantasy XIV 5.15 arrives tomorrow, and with it comes updates to the Blue Mage limited job and a new PvP map based on the Naadam from the Stormblood expansion.

Blue Mage’s level cap will increase to 60, and new stages of the Masked Carnivale will be available to test the magic you’ve collected. A Blue Mage Log will also be implemented which will involve challenging previous content in a group comprised of other Blue Mages. In the screenshot below, we spot several trials from the A Realm Reborn and Heavensward expansions, as well as a weekly target.

A sizable update to PvP also arrives in patch 5.15. A new map called Onsal Hakair will be added featuring a new mode called Danshig Naadam, which is based on the story battle undertaken in the Azim Steppe during the Stormblood main scenario quest.

Each team must fight to claim the “ovoo” that appear on the field. Once the gauge displayed over the ovoo is filled it is claimed by your team. Once claimed your team’s tactical rating will gradually increase over time, and that ovoo will be rendered inacessible.

Update: You can read Square Enix’s full patch notes on the Lodestone here.

Final Fantasy XIV is now available on PlayStation 4, PC, Steam, and Mac.
