Dragon Quest XI Review
Around over a decade ago now Dragon Quest VIII was first released on the PlayStation 2.  At that time, I didn't know much about Dragon Quest.  My cousin had bought the game in order to get the Final Fantasy XII demo that came with it but he never really got into the game.  I asked him if I could borrow it to play it and he pretty much just gave it to me.  I remember when I first started playing the game and was immediately blown away by the music at the title screen.  The world was vast and beautiful, the characters were charming and the game was just a blast.  While I never fully beat the game, the impact the game had on me stuck. Fast forward to today, and the latest Dragon Quest game is releasing world wide: Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age.  If you haven't seen already, we released some gameplay footage from my journey which you can watch here. My experience with Dragon Quest XI has been nothing short of amazing.  The game begins with you as the Luminary; a reincarnation of a force of light and good chosen by the tree of life, Yggdrasil
Nomura talks about Gummi Ships, Baymax and more for Kingdom Hearts III
Recently, Tetsuya Nomura spoke with Dengeki PlayStation about the current development on Kingdom Hearts III. Some of the information is repeated which you can read here. The Frozen level has weapons like ice skates and other ice related weapons. Nomura wanted realistic graphics for the "Pirates of the Caribbean" level. He also wanted Sora to be a pirate this time around. The Pirates level will have a lot of "land, sea and air" elements to it. Sora's Pirate keyblade transforms into a Spear and a Flag. Baymax and the Big Hero 6 world should be able to be shown off next time they reveal information about the game. The Rock Titan and Toy Story worlds were chosen for the KH Premiere event due to how close they were to production quality. Impressions from fans and the media that played were about the camera which is being reworked from scratch. The difficulty was somewhere between Beginner and Standard mode. Character progression for Sora will be similar to the ones used in Kingdom Hearts I and II. Gummi Ships will feature both a free-movement "open world" mode, as well as standard battle mode. Development of the Gummi Ships is handled by the Einhänder staff. Gummi Ship customization is being worked on. The order in which
A look at Final Fantasy XV’s Mod Organizer
Square Enix has taken the first step in releasing their suite of mod tools for Final Fantasy XV with the launch of the Mod Organizer which allows users to create their own mods to add new items into the game, or replace models for existing ones. Let's first start by taking a look at the interface. This is what my editor looks like currently, I have a few weapon mods I've been playing around with, one of them which is published which I'll be going over in this article. If this looks a little overwhelming to you, there is documentation to describe how to use it over here. However, that being said, there are a few bits of information that isn't specified, as well as some broken English and a few things that just seem misleading or incorrect. First you'll need to start off with a model. I asked over on our forums at MognetCentral if anyone had some interesting ideas that weren't too complicated for a mod. One user suggested a sword that they own in real life which is a replica of the Excalibur. Using images for the sword as a reference, I was able to create a rough copy
Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition Review
It's been almost two months since the launch of Final Fantasy XV's release on the PC, so it's about time I got around to giving it a review. This review will mainly look over the specifics with the PC edition. Instead of reviewing the story content, I will be taking a look at the port to PC, what it's capable, as well as a brief look into what's ahead for the PC edition. Graphics So, how does the game look? Pretty darn good for the most part. I played the game at 1080p reaching mostly 60 FPS or higher at all times. However, there were some frame dips from time to time which leads me to my first problem with the graphics, and that's the frame stuttering. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen frequently enough to notice. As for the visuals, the game's anti-aliasing has problems much like it does on consoles. The hair of characters is the most obvious place you'll find these issues. The in-game snapshots highlight these issues even more which can make your snaps look pretty bad. However, if you increase the "Resolution" in the graphics setting, you can reduce

A look at Final Fantasy XV’s PC Demo
Many of you have heard that Final Fantasy XV is coming to PC soon on March 6th, 2018. We recently posted about the demo that was made available a few days ago. We took a short hands on look to see how the game shapes up on the PC. You can view the gameplay below which covers the base story line from start to finish available in the demo. https://youtu.be/koipG_Cwt6c The footage captured was at 1080p and ran mostly at 60 FPS with about average settings. I did encounter a few dips here and there while also testing out some of the features. The first thing I noticed was the wide range of customization you have with the game's graphics which is greatly appreciated. However, in order to change these effects in game, you first need to set the "Custom" setting at the main menu, otherwise you need to go back to the main menu to adjust the presets. With that taken care of, you're free to adjust any settings on the fly as you see fit. The game does include an in-game FPS meter that tracks a few other stats as well like clock speeds,
