Tetsuya Nomura talks Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, The First Soldier and Ever Crisis in Famitsu interview
A plethora of Final Fantasy VII related news dropped yesterday after the Sony State of Play presentation. Square Enix had announced Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Episode Yuffie for PlayStation 5 and two new mobile games, Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier and Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, with the former being a RPG battle royale and the latter being the entire Final Fantasy VII storyline -- spinoffs and all -- explained in one singular title. Amidst all this exciting news, a Famitsu article featuring an interview with director Tetsuya Nomura was also dropped, and with it came a bunch of interesting tidbits of information regarding the three new titles. Thanks to the efforts of Aitaikuji, who has the interview translated in full on their blogpost, we got to learn a bit more about these three titles and what they will entail. In regards to the newly added Photo Mode to Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Nomura was asked if it would be similar to Kingdom Hearts III ReMind's photo mode. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade coming to PlayStation 5 alongside Episode Yuffie
Announced today during Sony's State of Play, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is coming to PlayStation 5. This upgraded version of the PlayStation 4's Final Fantasy VII Remake features a bundle of new updates exclusive to the PS5 edition, which includes two new visual modes to switch between ( "Graphics Mode", which prioritizes 4k high-resolution graphics and "Performance Mode", which prioritizes 60-frames per second). New "Classic Mode" difficulty settings were added as well alongside a fully customizable Photo Mode. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will release physically and digitally worldwide on June 10, 2021. The Physical version will be limited to the Standard Edition, which is currently priced at $69.99 USD on the PlayStation Network. The Delux Edition will be digital only ($89.99 USD), and comes bundled with a digital mini-soundtrack and artbook. Those who preorder either version of FFVIIR:Intergrade will receive a bonus "Cacstar" weapon to use in the new content update. Outriders Broadcast #5 details demo content and PC version
The Outriders demo is almost here. Releasing tomorrow on February 25 at 5pm GMT (6pm CET, 9am PT), players can get their first up-close look at the upcoming RPG-shooter by downloading the free demo on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, PC/Steam and GeForceNOW. According to Broadcast #5 “Into the Fray,” the demo will offer the entire opening chapter of the Outriders campaign, which is roughly three hours of free content that will be available ahead of its April release. Players will be able to make multiple characters, tackle multiplayer co-op (which will include crossplay with other platforms), and try out the four previously announced classes: Devastator, Pyromancer, Technomancer and Trickster. Any progress made in the demo will carry over to the full game if players purchase Outriders on the same platform. Legend of Mana remaster announced, coming to multiple platforms
Legend of Mana is back. Announced today during the Nintendo Direct livestream, this classic PlayStation JRPG returns to current generation consoles as a remaster that is set to launch June 24, 2021 on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Steam. Players will set off on a magical adventure to find the Mana Tree, only to discover that the world map is entirely empty. Throughout your adventure, you will acquire special artifacts that can be placed on the map in order to bring towns and dungeons to life by utilizing the Land Creation System. You can also progress the story in different ways based on the choices you make, offering players a unique gameplay experience. Legend of Mana will release digitally and will feature remastered graphics, a rearranged soundtrack, and the "Ring Ring Land" mini-game, which had not been previously released in the West. The game comes with a price tag of $29.99, and those who preorder before the release date will receive an early purchase reward, which includes ten avatars and a special Legend of Mana theme (PlayStation 4) or a Legend of Mana Wallpaper(Steam). Project Triangle Strategy announced for Nintendo Switch
A brand new RPG from Square Enix is coming to Nintendo Switch. Currently titled Project Triangle Strategy (name is subject to change), this HD-2D title has a similar appearance to Octopath Traveler and gameplay that echoes that of Final Fantasy Tactics. You can check out the announcement trailer below. Project Triangle Strategy is a tactical RPG that follows the story of four individuals caught in the shadowy remnants of the Saltiron War -- a great conflict between nations over limited salt and iron resources. The war ended with an uneasy truce, but has begun stirring up again in recent years. Serenoa Wolffort, Prince Roland, Frederica Aesfrost, and Benedict Pascal have gathered together to protect their homeland of Glenbrook from forces who seek the kingdom's destruction. Project Triangle Strategy is planned to release in 2022, with a demo available now on the Nintendo eShop. Trials of Mana celebrates surpassing one million in sales
Trials of Mana, the high definition remake of Seiken Densetsu 3 that originally released in 1995 as part of the classic Mana series, has surpassed one million units shipped and downloaded worldwide. The entirety of the Kingdom Hearts series is coming to PC this March
Square Enix has announced that the Kingdom Hearts series in it's entirety, including the recently released Melody of Memory, is at last coming to PC via the Epic Game Store. Releasing on March 30th, 2021 players can embark on a journey across Disney-themed worlds and fight against the spooky Heartless in a heart-warming story surrounding the power of friendship and the struggle between light and darkness. Final Fantasy XIV’s patch 5.4 is the break the story needs
Final Fantasy XIV’s fourth major patch update for Shadowbringers is underway. 5.4, titled "Futures Rewritten," brings with it no shortage of content to delve into, with the Main Scenario Questline beginning to sow the seeds of drama leading up to the next expansion, the Eden’s Promise raid series reaching its conclusion, and The Sorrow of Werlyt picking up speed toward it’s grand finale. Not to mention the final installment for the Ishgard Restoration Project has at last begun, with the continuation for the Save the Queen storyline right on it's heels. While there are plenty of things to tie us over until patch 5.5, I wanted to take a moment to focus a little on the writing this patch, namely on the three major story continuations: The MSQ, Eden and Werlyt. In this, I will be delving a bit into each, sharing my thoughts on these three stories and how they all combine together to create a fun little "filler episode" that the overall story really needed in order to prepare for what's to come. During The Game Awards livestream event, Square Enix dropped a brand-new trailer showcasing the gameplay for the upcoming NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, a remastered version of the 2010 action RPG. Square Enix announces sequel to The World Ends With You
A new installment to the action RPG series The World Ends With You is at last coming! Announced today with a trailer, Square Enix revealed that NEO: The World Ends With You is planned for a Summer 2021 release, and will be available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. You can check out the trailer and some screenshots below. The life-or-death battle of the Reaper’s Game has begun once more, and players will take on the role of Rindo as they explore the streets of Shibuya and fight to survive the deadly Game while attempting to uncover its strange mysteries.
