Dragon Quest XI still in development for Switch, though has “many things” to be worked out
During an E3 2018 interview with Polygon, producer Hokuto Okamoto was asked for a progress update for the Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age. Okamoto confirmed that the Switch version is still being made, but they have “many things” that need to be worked out first. “We’re making it,” Okamoto said. “We’re still making it. I can’t say anything more.” When asked why the Switch version was receiving extra development time compared to the PC and PlayStation 4 versions, Okamoto had this to say: “When we first announced , the Switch hadn’t come out yet and the development kit also wasn’t finalized. The hardware specs weren’t out yet, but we were like, ‘We can manage this. We can put this out on the Switch.’” Okamoto had politely declined elaborating further on how long “taking care of all those many things” for the Switch version would take.
