Final Fantasy IV heads to iOS and Android devices

The next Final Fantasy to debut on smart devices is Final Fantasy IV.

Square Enix has revealed that FFIV will be joining I through III on both iOS and Android, having seen previous releases on both DS and PSP. The game will launch first on iOS devices and is scheduled for a December 20th worldwide launch retailing at ¥1,800.

The new version will of course include touch screen navigation, and a new easier mode meant for novice players. In addition to improved audio, Japanese, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Chinese language support will be available. Much like FFIII, this version of the game will be based on the DS remake complete with 3D modeling and voice-overs.

While the Android version doesn’t have a solid date, it is expected to arrive some time in 2013.
