New updates coming to Final Fantasy XI in time for its 12th anniversary

As Final Fantasy XI turns 12 this year, Square Enix is readying up some new updates to coincide with the long-running MMORPG’s latest milestone.

In addition to new Skeers of Adoulin missions and new areas, the development team will be introducing the Mog Wardrobe, which will allow players to store even more of their in-game equipment. This update will also see the introduction of Ergon Weapons for both the rune fencer and geomancer job classes. Two new high-tier mission battlefields that allow players to challenge previous conquests at a higher difficulty for new spoils. Maat and Gessho will also be added to the ever-growing list of alter egos that can fight by the player’s side.

More information can be found on the official forums. We’ve included a launch trailer for the new update below.
