New details about the leaders in Dragon Quest Heroes II

Square Enix released new details about the upcoming Dragon Quest Heroes II. Specifically, they focused on details surrounding each king and queen of the seven different nations represented in the game, each which came about due to an ancient war.

While these countries had experienced peace by coexisting with monsters, it seems that those calm times have come to an end with war.

First we have the King of Zebion, whom rules over the seven nations and is said to be the wisest of the human race. He acts as a sage and as one who brokers peace among the countries.

Cesar is the prince of the desert land Gywall, and while he is of a higher social ranking, he is a childhood friend to the two protagonists of the game. Then there is the King of Orenka, a harbor country whose economy thrives in trade at sea, mostly with  the neighboring Gywall. He is known to be a chivalrous ruler who will fight amongst his soldiers if he must go to war.

The Queen of Kretia is one of a family of wizards who has ruled their nation for generations, drawing scholars the world over to learn more about their high level magic used to fight the monsters they are at war against.

Kretia is notable for its dense forests where giant tree monsters and poisonous mushrooms can be found.

While these nations are ruled by humans, there are also regions where monsters rule in peace – Mohrias, Felnock, and Daral, which lie in the harsh lands to the north separated by the man-made castle walls dividing the races. While the King of Daral is known as a kind ruler, the rulers of Mohrias and Felnock are known to be more hostile.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy’s End is set to be released in Japan for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita on May 27th. There has been no word of a localization. You can find more screenshots for the game below.
