Square Enix will reveal their plans for the Final Fantasy series 30th anniversary “soon” says franchise boss Shinji Hashimoto. His response was featured in Famitsu this week, where game developers were asked specifically about their expectations for 2017.

Hashimoto notes the special Real Escape Game x Final Fantasy XIV “Escape from the Binding Coil of Bahamut” won’t be the only thing they have planned for the 30th anniversary.

Several months ago, Square Enix opened an official portal site to celebrate the milestone, with its actual anniversary set to take place on December 18, 2017.
