While we’ve known since Final Fantasy VII Remake‘s announcement at Sony’s E3 2015 presentation that the title would be coming “first” to PlayStation 4, there hasn’t been much an update since regarding where we could see the game next.
Today, Square Enix quietly updated the game’s boxart assets to include a label that he game will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 platform until March 3rd, 2021 – exactly one year after its upcoming launch.
From this we can infer that other platforms like PC and Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox projects may come after that time. Storefronts like Steam, Epic, and services like Google Stadia could also be potential candidates.
However, would this rule out a potential PlayStation 5 launch port?
Even should it fall outside that year-long time-frame, Sony is set to debut it’s new console next holiday, and it’s possible a Final Fantasy VII Remake port could be a few short months beyond that.
