Final Fantasy XIV 5.45 updates Save the Queen, Blue Mage, & Skysteel Tools

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.45 arrives Tuesday, February 2nd, and with it come updates to the Save the Queen series, the Blue Mage limited job, and special Skysteel Tools for crafters and gatherers — amongst other quality-of-life updates. Season 18 of The Feast will also coincide.

Large-scale Battle: Delburum Reginae

“Beneath the wastes of Bozja Citadel lie the ruins of Queen Gunnhildr’s kingdom. The temple at its heart, once a shining beacon of hope for Bozja, now remains forever shrouded in darkness. And it is there the Warrior of Light must lay the queen’s legacy to rest.”

As part of the Save the Queen series, which sends the Warrior of Light to liberate the Garlean-occupied lands of Bozja, a new large-scale battle will take place in the Delburum Reginae. This series, which includes the Resistance weapons, can be started in the Doman Enclave and will see you to the Bozjan Southern Front, where resistance fighters and imperials have drawn their battle lines. Similar in scope to the Forbidden Land Eureka, this content will take place in a large field area with engagements to take part in to raise your Resistance rank, and, ultimately, storm the Castrum Lacus Litore.

Blue Mage Update

Blue Mage will now be able to level up to 70, in accordance with Stormblood expansion content. New action can be learned such as Phantom Flurry from Suzkau. Additionally, new duties qualify for the the Blue Log to test your repertoire of spells, and a new Level 70 set can be earned.

Skysteel Tools Update

“As the Firmament lays foundations for a new era in Ishgard, the time has come to present its skybuilders with tools representing the pinnacle of Skysteel perfection. But what esoteric means must be employed to reach such daunting heights?”

The large-scale restoration of Ishgard is underway, and with it comes the opportunity to upgrade a crafter or gatherer’s tool. The upgrade process is similar in concept to a Relic, Anima, or Resistance weapon, requiring rare materials.

Final Fantasy XIV is now available on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Mac. It is compatible with PlayStation 5.
