Guardians of the Galaxy introduces Grand Unifier Raker in new cinematic

Guardians of the Galaxy developer Eidos Montréal released a new cinematic, featuring Grand Unifier Raker and the Universal Church of Truth. A version with commentary from Marvel Games’ VP of Creative Bill Rosemann was also released, and provides some insight into the story and characters.

“This cinematic sees Star-Lord and his crew come face-to-face with the menacing Grand Unifier Raker, flanked by two of his imposing bodyguards, the Inquisitors. Despite being shot at by Rocket, Grand Unifier Raker is (currently) not interested in harming the Guardians, and instead wants to introduce them to the mysterious Matriarch. The dramatic scene closes with the Universal Church of Truth’s colossal starship entering the fray, swallowing the Hala’s Hope whole and capturing our Guardians.”

Nvidia also revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy will release with DLSS and Ray Tracing on PC, and will be available to play through it’s GeForce now cloud gaming service. The game is also coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC on October 26, 2021. A Cloud Version for the Nintendo Switch will be coming to “select regions” the same day.
