Stranger of Paradise recreates Final Fantasy I intro in new clip

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin tells a different story within the Final Fantasy I universe: that of Jack Garland and his comrades’ journey to kill Chaos. Developed by Koei Tecmo’s Team Ninja, the game is an action RPG with gameplay ties to the Souls series but closer still to Koei Tecmo’s own Nioh series.

In a new cutscene shared during the Final Fantasy series 34th anniversary broadcast, which saw guest appearances from developers throughout the series, the game recreates the iconic scene where the warriors of light cross the rebuilt bridge out of Cornelia, beginning their adventure to find the crystals and defeat the four fiends. Catch it below.

Earlier this week, the team revealed new characters Sophia and Astos as well as new locations such as the Western Keep, Crystal Mirage and the Flying Fortress. Details about event scenes and the job system were also shared — you can read up on that here.

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy OriginĀ launches March, 18 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Microsoft Windows platforms.
