Final Fantasy XIV 6.05 includes new raid difficulty mode, Excitatron maps, and more

Today, Final Fantasy XIV updated to version 6.05 and includes a new difficulty mode of the latest full party raid, a new tier of map dungeon inside the Excitatron 6000, a new tier of tomestone rewards and various quality of life updates.

Additionally, the Heavensturn seasonal event will be available tomorrow – you can check out details here. The full patch notes are also available via The Lodestone official website.

Pandæmonium Asphodelos (Savage)

The race for World First begins!

The Savage-difficulty version of Pandæmonium Asphodelos has been added, and can be unlocked by speaking with Nemjiji in Labyrinthos (X:8.4 Y:27.4). This content is currently the hardest in the game, and will require a lot of coordination and effort from you and your party members to succeed. It’s prudent to prepare by collecting high item level food that boosts stats that your given job uses, as well as consumable potions that provide a short increase in said stats. If this is your first time attempting this content, expect a lot of trial and error and you and others figure out how to surpass and retain each duty’s mechanics.

To participate the following requirements are needed:

  • You must have a Disciple of War or Magic job leveled to 590.
  • You must have completed the Endwalker main scenario quest.
  • You must have completed the story mode version of Pandæmonium Asphodelos.
  • Each floor has different item level requirements:
    • An item level of 570 is required to enter The First Circle (Savage).
    • An item level of 575 is required to enter The Second Circle (Savage).
    • An item level of 580 is required to enter The Third Circle (Savage).
    • An item level of 580 is required to enter The Fourth Circle (Savage).
  • This content requires a full party of eight players to challenge.
  • Once unlocked, these duties will be available through the Raid Finder function.

To meet these requirements, spend tomestones of aphorism on item level 570 [Moonward] gear, or collect gear from the story mode of Pandæmonium Asphodelos to obtain item level 580 [Limbo] gear. If you’re not wanting for gil, you may also opt for the crafted gear at item level 580 [Classical/Ornate Classical] from the market board, but be advised that you’ll be spending a pretty penny.

Upon clearing any duty in Pandæmonium Asphodelos, a treasure coffer containing a token corresponding to various equipment slots will appear. If you win one, opening the contents on your currently-equipped job will bestow a reward corresponding to the slot the coffer indicates. It’s important to plan ahead as you upgrade each slot with Moonward or Limbo equipment so that you can make the most out of the substats involved. Keep in mind that you may only obtain one coffer per each duty per week, and eligibility resets every Tuesday at midnight Pacific.

In addition to coffers, you may obtain tokens that can be exchanged with Mylenie in Labyrinthos (X:8.3 Y:27.6) or Djole in Radz-at-Han (X:10.3 Y:9.6) for additional equipment.

The Excitatron 6000

Treasure hunt maps now have their first Endwalker iteration. By collecting timeworn kumbhiraskin maps (rank 14) from gathering, Wondrous Tales, or market board purchase, will be able to use the Decipher action to reveal a location in an Endwalker zone where ‘X’ marks the spot. Once you pin down the exact location by checking the minimap provided, use the Dig action to launch a search. Be prepared–as you will be ambushed by waves of enemies, and will need a part of up to eight players to challenge the dungeon.

Once defeated, you will have a chance to enter The Excitatron 6000, a random dungeon much like the Dungeons of Lyhe Ghiah. Here you’ll face enemies in waves as you proceed further in. How far you proceed may depend on luck, but the rewards including rare crafting components as well as tomestones make it a worthwhile endeavor.

If you’re going in with a group of other adventurers, the conventional approach is to let the map-bearer roll Need on all drops that they desire, while everyone else rolls Greed. While this guarantees less of a reward if it’s not your map, helping each other with the maps you bring along allows for a quick succession of dungeon attempts that will lift all boats in the party. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to ask to check what the roll etiquette is before proceeding.

Allagan Tomestones of Astronomy

Allagan tomestones of astronomy have been added to exchange for item level 590 [Radiant’s] gear. This gear is meant to assist those attempting Pandaemonium Asphodelos (Savage) but can be collected by anyone.

Keep in mind that there is a weekly limit to how many tomestones of astronomy you can collect, a limit that will reset every Tuesday. You may accrue up to 450 per week, and hold a maximum of 2000. Remember, plan out your upgrades so that you can make the most out of these tomestones while rolling on gear in the story mode of Pandæmonium Asphodelos and collecting aphorism tomestones. If you ever need to double check, enter the Currency tab.

There are several ways to collect tomestones of astronomy, including duty roulettes, participating in The Hunt, and treasure maps. Some have a singular preferred method, with hunts being the fastest, but with server congestion still high it may be more troublesome at the current moment.

You can exchange these new tomestones for gear with Cihanti in Radz-at-Han (X:10.8, Y:10.3). If you want to preview how the whole set looks, remember to use the “Save/Delete Outfit” function of the Fitting Room window.
