Final Fantasy XI’s February Update continues Voracious Resurgence, adds more paid storage

Final Fantasy XI‘s February 2022 update has arrived, and with it comes the seventh chapter of The Voracious Resurgence which will see adventurers travel to Bastok. Previous chapters have taken place across Vana’diel, each with their own scenario.

Square Enix has also implemented additional Mog Wardrobes 5 through 8 to store additional items players may hoard on their adventure. This service requires an additional fee, and each wardrobe may store up to 80 pieces of equipment each.

In addition to some small systems updates, Square Enix is also holding several in-game events and promotions.

Update Summary

  • A new entry has been added to The Voracious Resurgence.
    • Players must have completed the quest Dance of the Tengu and speak to Gumbah in Bastok Mines (J-7) to accept the new quest.
  • The monthly records of Eminence objectives have been swapped out.
  • A new designation has been added.
  • Ambuscade has undergone the following additions and adjustments.
    • The foes in Normal and Intense Ambuscades have been swapped out. As such, the corresponding Records of Eminence objectives have changed.
    • Certain items obtainable in exchange for hallmarks have been swapped out.
    • Certain items obtainable for total hallmarks have been swapped out.
    • Certain items obtainable in exchange for badges of gallantry have been swapped out.
    • New items obtainable in exchange for badges of gallantry have been added.
  • The Master Level cap has been raised to 30.
  • Level adjustments have been abolished in the Quicksand Caves.
  • New items have been added
  • The following items may be stored via the Porter Moogle.
    • Storage Slip 3: “???”
    • Storage slip 22: “Besigiled Table”
    • Storage Slip 23: “Profane Staff”
  • In the quest An Imperial Heist, players are no longer able to trade Vigil weapons corresponding to Mythic weapons they have already completed to Abquhbah in Aht Urhgan Whitegate (I-10).
  • The Primeval Brew compensation period has concluded.
    • Eligible players are no longer able to claim their complimentary Primeval Brew, provided in compensation for the bug affecting the temporary item purchasable with Escha silt.
  • The maximum number of equipment sets has been raised to 200.
  • The maximum limit of the macro book has been raised to 40.
  • The following entries have been added to the auto-translate dictionary.
    • Text Commands: /wardrobe5, /wardrobe6, /wardrobe7, /wardrobe 8, /recycle
    • Game Terms 2: Master Level, Exemplar Points, Recycling Bin

Storage Update

  • New storage systems—Mog Wardrobe 5, 6, 7, and 8—have been added as optional paid services.
    • Mog Wardrobes are storage systems that allow players to store up to 80 items each.
    • Mog Wardrobes are accessible in all in-game areas.
    • Items may be equipped directly from a Mog Wardrobe.
    • All players are able to access Mog Wardrobes 1 and 2 at no additional charge. Mog Wardrobes 3 through 8 are available as optional paid services.

  • The item list display method has been revamped.
  • Players are now able to access the menu for changing equipment as soon as the inventory data download process is complete.
  • Mog Houses have undergone the following improvements.
    • A new storage button has been added to accompany the storage system additions.
    • All existing storage system menu options have been added under the Storage button.
  • Players are now able to move items directly between storage systems.
    • Players are now able to move items between two different storage systems directly without having to first access their inventory. How to move items directly between storage systems:
      • Open up the item list from the Main Menu or Mog House Menu and press the newly added Switch button to display a list of storage systems. Storage systems that you do not have unlocked, are unavailable in your current area, or have already opened will be greyed out.
      • Selecting the storage system you wish to move the item to will open the item list, from which you are able to move your desired items.
      • Shortcuts for storage system switching are available for your conveniences
      • Keyboard: Alt + Left or Alt + Right
      • Gamepad: Macro Button (Ctrl) + Macro Button (Alt) + Left or Macro button (Ctrl) + Macro Button (Alt) + Right
  • A new storage system, the Recycle Bin, has been added.
    • The Recycle Bin temporarily stores up to ten types of items that you have discarded from your inventory. Linkshells (other than Linkpearls and Pearlsacks) and temporary items cannot be stored in the Recycle Bin.
    • Press the Recycle Bin button, added in the inventory list options, to access the Recycle Bin.
    • Items may be returned to your inventory from the Recycle Bin.
    • Items in the Recycle Bin may not be sorted. Deleting items from the Recycle Bin:
      • If the Recycle Bin ever exceeds ten types of items, the oldest item (the one at the top of the list) will be deleted first.
      • All items will be deleted from the Recycle Bin when you change areas, log out, or are disconnected.
      • Deleted items may not be moved back to your inventory.

Events & Campaigns

February Login Campaign
Players can receive various rewards by logging in each day and collecting points to exchange for prizes, with February’s campaign featuring a Besigiled Table.
