Square Enix and developer h.a.n.d., Inc. revealed The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story – a new live action mystery-adventure game that will be launching for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on May 12, 2022.

Directed by Koichiro Ito of Metal Gear Solid V fame and produced by NeiR Automata‘s Junichi Ehara, the game focuses on the ill-fated Shijima family, who have experienced a chain of inexplicable deaths in their family over the past century. Players will take on the role of mystery novelist, Haruka Kagami and use powers of deductions to uncover the truth behind four murder cases that have taken place in the Shijima household over the last one hundred years.

Featuring cinematography and scenario direction by Yasuhito Tachibana, players will be able to experience an authentic Japanese story across different eras while collecting information throughout each era in order to uncover the truth. Performances include Nanami Sakuraba as the protagonist, Haruka Kagami and Yuta Hiraoka as Eiji Shijima, the second son of the Shijima family.

The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story can be pre-ordered from Steam starting today. Those who purchase before May 19 will receive a behind the scenes bonus along with a mini soundtrack composed by Yuki Hayashi, Daiki Okuno, Ryoshi Takagi, Shuichiro Fukuhiro and Shogo Yamashiro.
