Voice of Cards The Forsaken Maiden announced for February 17 release

Voice of Cards The Forsaken Maiden is a new RPG in what Square Enix calls the “Voice of Cards franchise” set to release on February 17th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC through Steam. Similar to The Isle Dragon Roars, the game will feature a tabletop aesthetic replete with cards and dice with a traditional turn-based combat style.

Developed with Alim, executive producer Yosuke Saito returns with creative director Yoko Taro and music director Keiichi Okabe. Characters are designed by Kimihiko Fujisaka and the scenario is written by Yuki Wada, and direction by Maasa Mimura. The game master, which serves as the game’s narrator, is voiced by Show Hayami in Japanese and Mark Atherlay in English.

The game is set on an island chain that, for generations, have received the protection of Maidens from destruction. You will assume the role of a protagonist who accompanies a young woman named Laty, who failed to become a maiden.

Square Enix shares that DLC based on NieR Automata after release:

  • Puppet’s Costume – An additional design for Barren, Laty and Lac’s outfits**
  • YoRHa Emblem – Replaces the design on the backs of the cards with the YoRHa emblem**
  • 2B Avatar – A 2B-inspired design for the player avatar, which can be used on the world map
  • The Copied City Board – A Copied City-themed battle board and gem box***
  • Machine Lifeform Table – A machine-lifeform-themed design for the game table**
  • Resistance Jukebox – Allows you to change the BGM to music that evokes the memory of the androids who fought to the death for the sake of humanity**
  • Pixel Art Set – Replace all character and enemy illustrations with pixel art**
  • Automata Dice – A Pod-themed design for your dice (available in North America and Asia only) **
*The items sold in this set will be available for individual purchase after the game release.
**The appearance will not change in some sections.
***The Copied City Board content does not include dice DLC.
