  • Job adjustments. More details on various job adjustments will come in the second part of the 6.1 live letter preview streams. Yoshida notes that large-scale changes are difficult when an Ultimate raid is also releasing.
  • PVP Updates – Crystalline Conflict – small scale PvP. PvP action improvements and adrenaline rush actions for each job. New PVP reward system. The Feast will end with the release of Patch 6.1.
  • New Custom Deliveries (Patch 6.15) – Ameliance Leveilleur.

  • New idle animation for parasols.
  • Mounts, emotes, fashion accessories and modern aesthetics are separated from the market board’s Miscellany section and can be filtered to show only items not yet obtained. A check mark will display if an identical item has already been used.

Improvements to A Realm Reborn Main Scenario Quests

  • Duty Support System – Version of the Trust system specifically for main scenario duties. In the future Trust will solely refer to the avatar leveling system.
  • Duty Support for A Realm Reborn (Patch 2.0 only) – 4-player dungeons and trials associated with the MSQ can be completed with NPCs. NPCs will be selected automatically according to your role. The Adventurers’ Guild and Grand Companies will join you for 2.0 dungeons. Players may also notice texture upgrades.
  • Duty Support for 2.x and Heavensward onward will be added in future patches.
  • Available for Duty Support as of 6.1:
  • Major revisions to Cape Westwind and later duties. Cape Westwind will become a solo quest battle instead of the 8-player trial it is today.
  • Haukke Manor has been adjusted to add a teleporter after the second boss where you would previously have to use the Return spell.
  • Castrum Meridianum will become a 4-player dungeon instead of the 8-player dungeon it is today.
  • The Praetorium will become three separate duties – Start through the Gaius battle is a 4-player dungeon. Ultima Weapon is a 4-player trial and the Lahabrea battle is a solo quest battle.
  • Changes to Main Scenario Roulette – Available duties include Castrum Meridianum, The Praetorium and The Porta Decumana (4-player trial). The team plans to adjust rewards received for duty roulette.
  • The team debated removing Main Scenario Roulette, but the dungeons are still longer than normal dungeons, yet shorter than their previous iterations.
  • The Scions weren’t always conveniently gathered on your journey through 2.0 so they won’t appear often in Duty Support compatible dungeons.

Data Center Travel

  • Allows players to visit Worlds in different logical data centers within the same physical data center and challenge duties with players from said data centers.
  • Player nameplates will display the <Traveler> tag.
  • Destination Data Center Restrictions – The same restrictions as the World Visit System will apply. In addition, features such as Free Company chat, cross-world linkshell chat and PvP teams are restricted.
  • Cross-world linkshell chat is available so long as said CWLS exists within a logical data center. It will be unavailable when visiting another logical data center.
  • From Patch 6.2 it will be possible to join CWLS on other logical data centers via data center travel.
  • It’s different than traveling to another world. You will need to select it from the Character Select screen after the title menu.
  • Select a destination data center from the character select screen. You will be returned to the title screen during processing (which cannot be canceled.) Select your desired World and character, and repeat the above steps if you wish to return to your data center.

Japanese Data Center Expansion

  • Measures to increase limit for simultaneous logins – increasing number of logical data centers from 3 to 4. Regrouping worlds within each logical data center from 11(10) to 8. Simultaneous login limit should be increased by several thousand for each world with a total increase of over 50,000 across the entire JP data center.
  • Scheduled for July 2022.
  • After the regrouping of Worlds, the cross-world linkshell chat may be available under certain conditions if members have moved to the Meteor data center.
  • After regrouping of Worlds, players can use the Home World Transfer Service within Japanese data centers free of charge for a limited time. Incentives for players who own land will be reimbursed for the full price of the estate, plus compensation of three million gil for furnishings. Players who own an apartment will be reimbursed 500,000 gill, plus another 500,000 for compensation for non-recoverable furnishings.
  • The plan is to implement the data center travel system BEFORE the Japanese world regrouping, and Yoshida asks for feedback on the official forums.

Announcements

  • The Little Ladies’ Day seasonal event will run from March 14th to the 31st. Details will be posted on March 7th.
  • The team is hiring French and German translators for contract or freelance positions.
  • The automatic logout feature will be suspended in the near future.
  • Yoshida apologizes for having to regroup worlds on the Japanese data center again, but it is the best decision for the long-term health of the game and will allow for a better experience.
  • Patch 6.1 will begin a new adventure that includes excitement and drama. The next live letter won’t be far off and will include more information on Patch 6.1.
