Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden launches September 13

Voice of Cards is set to get even more content with the release of Beasts of Burden, an all-new title launching September 13 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. Voice of Cards: Beasts of Burden promises to be a standalone experience, with fans of the previous two outings and newcomers both able to enjoy freely.

Beasts of Burden will allow players to trap monsters they defeat in cards to later use them as skills in battle. Of course, there’s an all-new story that’s set in a world where thousands of years of hatred exists between monster and man and a girl who loses her home swears revenge on said monsters. She’ll join up with a mysterious boy as they set out to unravel the fate of the broken world.

Fans of Creative Director Yoko Taro can get their hands on a Digital Deluxe Edition which includes the game and several DLC items themed after mobile game NieR Re[in]carnation. These items include:

  • Decoration of Those in the Cage – New costumes for the game’s heroine and her companions
  • Handbook Pattern – Card reverse patterned after an expert handbook
  • Mama Avatar – Avatar designed patterned after Mama
  • Story Collectors’ Dice – Dice patterned after Mother and Carrier
  • The Cage Board – Board and accessories patterned after the Cage
  • Aid Table – Table patterned after the random draw screen
  • Melody of reincarnation – A soundtrack that brings to mind a certain tale of the girl and the monster
  • Pixel Art Set – Replaces all character and enemy illustrations with pixel art

Those who purchase the game now through October 3, 2022 will receive the “Iron Avatar” DLC which unlocks an avatar design with a lustrous iron color, and the “Somber Girl’s Abstract Pattern” DLC which unlocks a card with the reverse patterned after the back view of the game’s heroine.
