Square Enix shares Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV fan appreciation movie
Square Enix has shared a special "fan appreciation video" thanking fans for their support of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. The short clips features a behind the scenes "what-if" scenario involving a certain touchy Final Fantasy series monster who's about to find his way to the dinner table. Today also marks the release of the film's collaboration with mobile title Final Fantasy Brave Exvius in Japan. Check it out below. Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV joins Brave Exvius on January 1
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will join up with Final Fantasy Brave Exvius starting January 1, Square Enix announced today. This special collaboration will launch in part with a fan appreciation special movie on New Year's Day. Square Enix has provided a short trailer teasing these announcements. Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV saw its launch this past August as a companion film to the Final Fantasy XV game. The movie outlines the events of the story from King Regis' point of view - drawing on the bond between father and child. According to Square Enix, the game and film work together to expand the story, offering more depth to Noctis' journey.

Final Fantasy und Filme haben eine lange gemeinsame Geschichte, die sich bisher schon über 11 Jahre erstreckt. Als Squaresoft damals mit Final Fantasy: Die Mächte in dir den ersten Film ins Rennen schickte, waren viele Fans enttäuscht. Was hatte das mit "Final Fantasy" zu tun? Als es Square Enix ein paar Jahre mit Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children erneut versuchte, wurde es für den Fan Service gelobt, hatte als echter Spielfilm jedoch deutliche Defizite. Es war im Jahr 2013, in dem das Spielprojekt Final Fantasy Versus XIII in Final Fantasy XV umgewandelt wurde. Zu dieser Zeit beschloss Regisseur Takeshi Nozue und sein Team von Square Enix Visual Works, einen Teil der Spielgeschichte in Filmform zu erzählen. Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV ist ein Teil des Spieluniversums, der zusammen mit der Animeserie Brotherhoods: Final Fantasy XV die Hintergrundgeschichte des Spiels nahebringen soll, jedoch laut Square Enix auch als eigenständiger Film funktionieren soll. Kingsglaive erzählt von dem Krieg zwischen den Königreichen Lucis und Niflheim. Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV Review
Final Fantasy and film-making have a long, storied history spanning back eleven years now. When Squaresoft penned their first film with Final Fantasy: Spirits Within, many were disappointed. How could something like this be considered "Final Fantasy"? A few years later, Square Enix decided to try their hand again - this time with Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, which was praised for its fan service but fell flat as a proper film. 2013 saw the conversion of Final Fantasy Versus XIII to Final Fantasy XV and later that year, director Takeshi Nozue and his team at Square Enix's Visual Works moved forward with a film project that would end up being Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. It, along with the short anime Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV function as two pieces of media meant to shed light on initial backstory to the game - though Square Enix insists Kingsglaive can also work as a standalone movie. Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV tells the story of the years long war between the kingdoms of Lucis and Niflheim. PlayStation’s behind the scenes with Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV's PlayStation Store version features a number of exclusive bonus features focused on the making of the film. One such video highlights this year's San Diego Comic Con panel where director Takeshi Nozue, lead writer Dan Inoue, actors Andrea Tivadar and Liam Mulvey shared their experiences working with motion capture and more. Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV detailed in new concept art
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV is out now worldwide with a number of streaming services offering certain bonuses for those who purchase online. iTunes in specific are offering a downloadable set of concept art from the production of the movie. Most of the artwork focuses on the film's character designs for Luna, Regis, Nyx and Crowe with various scenery from the city of Insomnia. Alternatively, fans who purchase from PlayStation Network will receive a bonus item for the Final Fantasy XV game - a "Royal Raiment" outfit for Noctis, which is also available in the Collector's and Deluxe editions. The first 13 minutes of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV in Japanese
Square Enix and Sony Pictures have released the opening 13 minutes Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV with Japanese voice overs ahead of its release on streaming services on August 30. The CGI companion film will be available worldwide through iTunes, PlayStation Network and more with a blu-ray disc release planned for October 4. For the English version of this clip, watch here.

Time has passed and you may have wondered what happened to those cards and their winners. At the Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV movie premiere in London this week we sat down with  director Takeshi Nozue for a brief video interview. https://youtu.be/r3VnnqieIhg Nozue's previous movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children made FF-hearts leap for joy, when it was released in 2005 and many fans are curious about whether Kingsglaive will live up to its expectations. The director talks about what fans can look forward to in the next full length feature movie and its importance compared to the game. The interview covers Lunafreya as the key character of the Final Fantasy XV Universe and Nozue's personal impression of the Final Fantasy brand.
