Hajime Tabata is still passionate about bringing Final Fantasy Type-0 westward

In quite the turn of events, it seems Square Enix may have turned their eye back on Final Fantasy Type-0 after nearly two years of silence. Citing fan demand and the changing portable market, the company may be turning toward a future release on the PlayStation Network.

Speaking with US Gamer, Director Hajime Tabata touched upon the recently announced Final Fantasy Agito and how that smartphone title will more than likely see release overseas.

According to Tabata, Type-0 had seen localization some time ago into English and other various European languages, but remained unreleased for “logistical reasons.” Now that Agito has been announced, Tabata sees both games as companion titles and hopes to bring both titles to Western audiences. While an official localization has yet to be greenlit within Square Enix for potential release on PlayStation Network, Tabata says that it’s in the final stages of planning as we speak.

He made sure to caution a caveat, however – as of now nothing is guaranteed but citing fan feedback, Tabata remains passionate about a renewed interest in bringing the game overseas.
