New Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster footage shows more from Final Fantasy I through VI

Square Enix posted a new panel about Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, 2D pixel remasters of the first six Final Fantasy series games. Joining the panel is series creators Hironobu Sakaguchi, Yoshinori Kitase, and Nobuo Uematsu to discuss how they created the iconic characters, scenes, and music of the franchise.

A slightly longer reveal trailer shows additional footage. Check it out below:

Additionally the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters have been announced for PC via Steam and smartphones via iOS an Android. Each remaster will be a separate purchase and will begin releasing next month.

It should be noted that Square Enix has pinned the following note: “These games are newly developed remaster editions based on the original titles. Some of the changes and additional elements found in other remakes of these games are not included.” Looks like that’s a bust for GBA and PSP content.

Additionally, Square Enix will be retiring the previous versions of Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI from Steam where the only option will be the Pixel Remaster. Interestingly, these versions do have the additional content found in the GBA versions.
