Where to unlock new content and features in Final Fantasy XIV 6.2

The second major patch to follow Final Fantasy XIV‘s Endwalker expansion goes live Tuesday, August 23rd. Patch 6.2 Buried Memory features new content and features that we’ve summarized below — including where to unlock them. Note that some items are marked for Patch 6.25, which is planned to release roughly two months after 6.2.

The popular profile creator makes its official debut! Craft the perfect calling card for your character with a range of expanded customization options and improved portrait features.

Main Scenario Revisions

The Duty Support system has been expanded to include five additional dungeons from A Realm Reborn and Heavensward, some of which feature key characters from the story. Certain trials have also been revamped for a smoother adventuring experience.

* The duties newly added to the Duty Support system are as follows: Snowcloak, the Keeper of the Lake, Sohm Al, the Aery, and the Vault. Further updates will be progressively implemented in future patches.

New Fashion Accessories

With all-new personal effects and special actions added to the fashion accessory system, there are more ways than ever to adventure in style!


Crystalline Conflict

  • Series 2 will be held between Patch 6.2 and 6.3, during which time you can earn Series EXP and increase your Series level by participating in any PvP duty. Increasing your Series level will unlock various Series rewards.*
  • Season Two will end and Season Three will begin. When the season ends, the top 100 ranking players from each data center will receive vouchers via the moogle delivery service. Players finishing in Bronze tier or higher can claim rewards by speaking with the Feast Quartermaster at the Wolves’ Den Pier (X:4.9 Y:5.7).
  • Beginning with Season Three, players will compete for rankings based on their highest achieved tier and Crystal Credit score during the season rather than their final standings.

*Rewards from Series 1 can only be claimed until the end of Series 2. To claim rewards, select Series Malmstones from the PvP Profile window, then select Previous Series.

Hidden Gorge Returns

  • Mount speed has been increased.
  • The tank, monk, samurai, and reaper modifier for damage taken has been changed from -20% to -30%.
  • The dragoon and ninja modifier for damage taken has been changed from -15% to -30%.
  • The physical ranged DPS, healer, black mage, and summoner modifier for damage taken has been changed from -10% to -15%.
  • The red mage modifier for damage taken has been changed from -10% to -15%.
  • The potency of the Flying High status has been adjusted.
  • The HP and actions of warmachina have been adjusted.
  • The HP and actions of mammets, gobtanks, and goblin mercenaries have been adjusted.
  • The HP of towers and cores has been adjusted.
  • The actions of steam cannons have been adjusted.
  • The potency of the HP over time effect granted by the Tower Defense effect has been adjusted.
  • The damage over time effect of magitek fields has been adjusted.
  • The damage threshold required to obtain goblin mercenaries has been adjusted.

Notable Quality of Life Updates:


  • The Actions & Traits window has added a compact view where combos can be viewed.
  • The recast timer displayed in the middle of action icons can be enlarged in the Character Config./Display settings.
  • HP restoration over time will no longer generate enmity with each tick of healing, but executing their actions will.
  • When under an effect that increases the chance to land a critical hit or direct hit, actions that are guaranteed to land a critical hit or direct hit will now deal increased damage.
  • When executing actions that are guaranteed to land a critical hit or direct hit, they will now deal increased damage based on the direct hit rate and critical hit rate attributes.
  • The gladiator’s arms and shields yielded by treasure coffers will now appear together as a set item.
  • Duty Roulette: Level 90 Dungeons has been added, including: The Dead Ends, Smileton, The Stigma Dreamscape.
  • It will take longer for the screen to darken after a Party KO during all trials and raid dungeons.
  • To address a recent issue with the housing lottery system, an NPC by which players may voluntarily return the deposit they were accidentally refunded has been added.


  • The available type of Tomestones will be swapped out with a new tier: Causality. 450 of these tomestones per week can be obtained.
  • New items are available from certain gemstone traders. Rewards in the Excitatron 6000 have been adjusted.
  • Prizes available in exchange for Khloe’s Gold Certificate of Commendation, Khloe’s Silver Certificate of Commendation, and Khloe’s Bronze Certificate of Commendation have been adjusted.
  • The drop rate for the Lynx of Eternal Darkness Flute and Lynx of Divine Light Flute has been increased.
  • The weekly restriction on obtaining Dragonsong Tokens from Dragonsong’s Reprise (Ultimate) has been removed.
  • The following adjustments have been made to Aglaia: The weekly restriction on rewards obtained from coffers has been removed.The weekly restriction on obtaining Aglaia Coins has been removed.
  • The number and types of Allagan tomestones received from Duty Roulette have been adjusted.
  • The maximum store for crafters’ scrips and gatherers’ scrips has been increased from 2,000 to 4,000.


  • Dynamic resolution has been implemented (Windows/PS4/PS5).
  • The capacity of the glamour dresser has been increased from 400 to 800.
  • Using the /draw emote while your weapon is sheathed will allow you to maintain a weapon drawn pose.
  • Players can now request gear repairs from party and alliance members.
  • An instant portrait will now be displayed when beginning a game of Doman mahjong.
  • New emotes have been added.

  • Crystalline Conflict —Time remaining until KO’d party members are revived will now appear in the party list.
  • Players can now preview the contents of certain coffers that yield multiple items when opened.
  • Botanists and miners may now discover prime collectables when gathering. Prime collectable items that have reached maximum collectability will, on occasion, become sublime collectables when gathered. A higher gathering rate increases your chances of a prime collectable becoming sublime.
  • The Steam overlay will now appear when loading the game via Steam.
  • New trophies have been added. (PS5)
  • To improve support for color blindness, the color of area markers on maps has been adjusted.

A request from a certain someone in Ul’dah has you packing your adventuring gear, and descending once more into the underground waterways of Sil’dih.

Whereas variant dungeons are casual, story-based experiences which can be completed by solo players, criterion dungeons will challenge a party of four adventurers with battles of punishing difficulty.

Criterion dungeons are available in two difficulty levels, and impose unique rules and restrictions─such as limiting character resurrections. Assemble a band of trustworthy comrades to overcome every obstacle and explore every corner of the subterrane!
