Final Fantasy XI November 2022 Update adds Part 10 of The Voracious Resurgence

In the latest monthly update to Final Fantasy XI, the tenth chapter of The Voracious Resurgence scenario commences with Gumbah in Bastok, and will allow players to further reforge their Prime Weapons. However, players continuing past this chapter will need to be in possession of a Prime Weapon that has a DMG value.

Updates to Sortie and Ambuscade have also been implemented, and players will be able to use the ‘Matsui-P’ alter ego in Trust.

The latest developer video digest highlights the latest, which we’ve transcribed below. You can check out the detailed update notes on the official forums here.

FINAL FANTASY XI Digest #41 — November 2022

Final Fantasy XI Producer, Akihiko Matsui:
Hi, nice to see you again. The 10th episode of The Voracious Resurgence has started. Not too many missions are left. We hope you all enjoy the story the end. To our Western players, greetings! FFXI Producer Matusi here.

Final Fantasy XI Director, Yoji Fujito:
Greetings! Director Fujito here. It’s time for the FFXI Digest for November, the eleventh month of the year.

Matsui:
It’s now been six months since our 20th anniversary and it’s very heartwarming to see so many adventurers continuing to enjoy their time in Vana’diel.

Fujito:
We appreciate all of your continued support! Starting this month, the WE ARE VANA’DIEL website will be updated with concept art of various in-game areas. More updates are on the way, so please look forward to them! Without further ado, we’d like to share some information on this month’s version update. Please share any feedback with us on the official forums.

Ambuscade

Matsui:
Let’s begin with Ambuscade. This month’s Volume One features Iron Giants while Volume Two features Mantis.

Fujito:
Both of them are returning encounters. Have they been adjusted in any way?

Matsui:
On top of the changes we made to the Iron Giants encounter in November 2021, we also made it easier to deal damage if you alternate between immobilizing and chipping away at one target. We also made it easier to deal damage if you alternate between immobilizing and chipping away at one target.

Fujito:
What about the Mantis encounter?

Matsui:
The boss’s HP has been reduced, which should directly contribute to an easier encounter than before.

Fujito:
Thank you! For further details on the Ambuscade adjustments, please refer to the version update information.

Sortie

Matsui:
Next up is Sortie. The Sortie Area added in the previous update will feature a new boss, which had been rescheduled for bug fixes and reassessments.

Fujito:
This is essentially the “final boss” of Sortie, and it’ll be quite the tough adversary.

Matsui:
Alongside its addition we’ve also added a new treasure chest. Venture into the depths of Sortie to overcome this final boss!

Fujito:
We’re also continuing our investigations for a fundamental solution to the Sortie congestion.

Matsui:
It’ll be some time before we can find a solution, and we’d appreciate your patience in the meantime.

The Voracious Resurgence

Matsui:
Next is The Voracious Resurgence. This month’s update marks the beginning of Part 10.

Fujito:
With the Prime weapons finally revealed the story is starting to pick up. Our next destination is Movalpolos, so we hope you’ll look forward to seeing the Moblins and whomever else may be joining us.

Matsui:
That said, I’d like to note the quest that begins from Gumbah in Bastok. The second stage of Prime weapon upgrades will be made available again through this update.

Fujito:
Furthermore, you’ll need a Prime weapon with DMG to progress the story from December onward. You won’t be able to progress with Prime Shield or Prime Horn, and will need to work on a different prime weapon to proceed.

Matsui:
We apologize for neglecting to make this announcement earlier. As long as you upgrade a Prime weapon other than those two to the second stage, you’ll be able to progress the story to the end of The Voracious Resurgence.

Battle-related Updates

Matsui:
Next is regarding battle-related updates. First, the Master Level cap will be increased to 50.

Fujito:
This will be the final level cap for Master Levels, so we hope you’ll continue making your way up to level 50.

Matsui:
We’ve also added a new farming location for Exemplar Points in Bibiki Bay.

Fujito:
We’d received a lot of requests for a farming location out in the open so we hope you’ll consider this as one of your options.

Matsui:
Separately, as we mentioned back in May, the limited-time Trust will be switching from Cornelia to Matsui-P. I hope you’ll allow him to accompany you on your adventures!

Miscellaneous Updates

Matsui:
Finally, we have some miscellaneous updates. A new porter slip will be added to the Porter Moogle.

Fujito:
This slip will be for the +3 Empyrean gear and we hope it’ll come in handy.

Matsui:
As for this month’s login campaign rewards, two trigger items for A Challenge from Lion! will be added. We’re also adding a new orchestrion roll as loot.

Fujito:
Additionally, the November campagins include a new campaign which increases the drop rate of Orpheus’s Sash and other A.M.A.N Trove-original equipment. We hope you’ll check them out.

Matsui:
That’s it for this month’s Digest! We’ll see you in the next Digest!
