A new Dragon Quest Monsters game in development for Nintendo Switch By Tony Garsow on May 26, 2023 at 11:15 PM

Square Enix has teased that a new Dragon Quest Monsters game is in development for Nintendo Switch. In the following video posted to YouTube, images referencing the last 25 years of the spinoff series fade in and out before revealing plans for a new title.

The Dragon Quest Monsters series spans 13 titles, beginning with the original Dragon Quest Monsters (or Dragon Warrior Monsters here in the U.S.) on the Game By Color and the latest being Dragon Quest Monsters Terry’s Wonderland RETRO for the Nintendo Switch and smartphones.

In this series, players control a human main character who battles Dragon Quest series monsters against each other in turn-based combat. The player capture, train, and breed them, forming parties for various situations.
