Final Fantasy XI's May update releasing in two parts, concludes The Voracious Resurgence

Final Fantasy XI‘s May Update will roll out in two phases: the first, out today, will include an update to Ambuscade that refreshes previously-featured encounters. The second is out on May 24th, and concludes The Voracious Resurgence scenario.

Ambuscade

May 10th’s Ambuscade update will feature two returning encounters that have not been altered. Volume One will feature Orcs and Volume Two will feature flies. The team recommends brushing up on your strategies from previous appearances.

Starting April onwards, A. Voucher: Replica will be available as a reward; you can exchange this ticket for various replica weapons that were available as Ambuscade rewards.

Ambuscade will continue to be refreshed every month with different returning encounters.

The Voracious Resurgence

May 24’s update will include the latter half of The Voracious Resurgence scenario’s eleventh and final part – marking the conclusion to a story that began back in August 2020. Producer Fujito shared that the team poured their all into the final chapter.

Prime Weapons

The final stage of reforging will be available, and the third stage will require completion of The Voracious Resurgence scenario. The reforged prime weapons will allow use of unique weapon skills when equipped, and while being visually similar to their relic weapon counterparts, they will have different effects.
