Octopath Traveler series now available on PlayStation and Xbox platforms, free boss update released

Today, Square Enix has announced that Octopath Traveler is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5. The sequel, Octopath Traveler II, is now available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, which means that both games in the franchise are now available across all major platforms including Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Windows PC.

Both games have also been added to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, and are also available as a bundle. Those subscribed to PlayStation Plus will have until June 20, 2024 to buy Octopath Traveler at a 34% discount.

Alongside today’s platform news, Team Asano has released a free update for all versions of Octopath Traveler II that allows players to unlock three special boss encounters after beating the final boss of the story. These encounters include a challenge from the cast of the first game, Octopath Traveler.

The Octopath Traveler series is a turn-based RPG series developed with HD-2D graphics, and since its inception in 2018, has sold over four million units worldwide. Champions of the Continent is a free to play entry in the series exclusive to iOS and Android devices.
