Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster out now in North America

Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster is out today in North America – with Europe to follow later in the week – on both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. Originally released for the PlayStation 2, Final Fantasy X was the first entry in the series to feature voice acting and full 3D cinematic visuals.

This newly remastered version for the HD age incorporates a variety of redrawn artwork, textures and even music along with new voice overs in the included 30-minute voice drama following the game’s end credits. For the first time, North American fans will also be able to experience a load of new content previously exclusive to the International version of the game. Players will be able to watch the Eternal Calm, a short film following Yuna after the events of Final Fantasy X. Additionally, Last Mission, the storyline-based mission following Yuna, Rikku and Paine in their exploration of the Iutycyr Tower ruins can be accessed straight from the main menu.

“With this remaster, we wanted to service our community by bringing back two of the most cherished titles in the series,” said Final Fantasy series Producer Yoshinori Kitase. “We’ve spent a lot of time completely remastering the game and the final high-definition experience is a true testament to the team’s hard work. We can’t wait for the fans to re-experience the gorgeous world of Spira.”

Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster is available as a single disc on PlayStation 3 and as a 2-in-1 package for PlayStation Vita both priced at $39.99. You can read our review of the games by clicking here.
