Sony announces Final Fantasy XV-themed PlayStation 4 hardware By Erren Van Duine on September 13, 2016 at 3:10 AM

Final Fantasy XV is the latest game receiving the special edition hardware treatment, revealed today during Sony Japan’s pre-TGS press conference. Sony and Square Enix have partnered to create a custom “Luna Edition” design featuring the new PlayStation 4 Slim hardware, a digital rental for Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, an original theme and a copy of the game due out in November for 39,980 yen.

The design of the console was inspired by the idea of “hardware with a story” – specifically a shot of Noctis looking up at the moonlit sky. According to game director Hajime Tabata, it was Sony who came to Square Enix with the overall idea.

Most themed systems suck, but the moons not bad, just doesn’t scream XV (other than the text). Do kinda like the controller though heh.

  • It’s ugly.
