While it’s no secret that Final Fantasy XIII-2 hero Noel Kreiss will be appearing once again in Lightning Returns, it’s only now that we see full attention placed on him in this week’s issue of Jump.

Following the events of the previous game, Noel finds himself in Luxerion. Now known as the Hunter of Darkness (Shadow Hunter in the English version) he seeks to maintain a sense of security in Luxerion as the world counts down to its final days. The 500 years that have passed have not been so kind to Noel as it seems he’s placed the burden of Etro’s death on himself and claims the Chaos that followed to be the ultimate sin.

Noel dreams of a world that everyone can live happily in, but Lightning appears to have broken it. As a result, he finds himself against Lightning and her mission and will seemingly work to stop her at all costs. “I will kill you and the prophesied future will become a reality,” claims Noel as he readies a variety of arts to use against the would-be Savior.
