Take a drive with Final Fantasy XV: new gameplay, screenshots and artwork from PAX

Square Enix has released a wealth of new media this morning, further confirming Final Fantasy XV will launch some time in 2016.

During an Active Time Report this past weekend at PAX Prime, the company shared new information on the game including concept art and screenshots, giving players a glimpse at Caem, a secret outpost near the sea that acts as a port for traveling between continents, as well as a closer look at the game’s driving features.

Additionally, fans were shown a video message from Avalanche Studios Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Christofer Sundberg who shared his thoughts on a potential collaboration between their studio and Square Enix Japan. “We’re proud of our technical capabilities and the work we’ve done to help shape the open-world genre,” said Sundberg. “We hold the Final Fantasy franchise, and the team working on it, in such high regard and are excited to be a part of the next chapter.”

For those looking forward to the next bit of information, Square Enix will be hosting its next ATR at Tokyo Game Show where director Hajime Tabata plans on revealing more details on Luna and Regis as well as a look at the game’s fishing mini-game and chocobos.

While we’re still without a full release date, the company will be holding a special event in March 2016 to detail their launch plans. More information on this event will be revealed at a later time.
