Motomu Toriyama on Final Fantasy X-3: "The possibility isn't zero"

A Final Fantasy X-3 in some form or another isn’t completely ruled out according to words said in a new interview with Square Enix creatives in Famitsu magazine this week. Tetsuya Nomura, Motomu Toriyama and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima were asked to share some words on the Final Fantasy X series and its potential futures.

According to Nomura, Nojima actually wrote a scenario for FFX-3 if it ever were to happen. Will and 2.5 were created from this synopsis, however, the concept itself remains in limbo.

Toriyama goes on to say that “the possibility of making FFX-3 is not zero.” First they’ll have to finish Final Fantasy VII Remake, which continues to be a lengthy project for the foreseeable future.
