Star Ocean The Divine Force news scheduled for late June

The bit of news surrounding Star Ocean The Divine Force has been pushed back slightly, according to a new message from Square Enix. The game was meant to share an update in Spring 2022, however, the team is now moving forward with preparations for the next reveal to be had around late June.

While the tweet offers up an apology to fans as well, it’s worth noting that Spring ends on June 21 so they’re too far off the mark as it is. That said, there’s still not much known about the upcoming-Tri-ace developed sequel other than a handful of base features. We know it’s coming in 2022 and it’s coming to a variety of platforms including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. We’ve seen a handful of characters, cutscenes and environments along with the initial trailer reveal.

Star Ocean The Divine Force features changes based on the choices made, where heroes intersect between the two worlds of sci-fi and fantasy. It will have a rich lineup of playable characters, freedom to fly around the environment where everything in-sight is “a field for adventure.” The game will boast the “fastest and mightiest action in the series.” You’ll be able to fly through the sky in the largest field areas in the series, hopping around rocky stretches or over rooftops. Battles will have you enter combat at high speed or disappear instantly before an enemy. You can even defeat a horde of enemies with a skill that enables one-shot kills and experience “tough, yet exhilarating battles while flying freely around the world.”

As for what else there is to know, we’ll just have to wait for the end of next month.
