Tactics Ogre: Reborn announced for multiple platforms; launches November 11

After various leaks and rumors, Square Enix has officially revealed the re-imagined release of strategy RPG classic Tactics Ogre. Titled Tactics Ogre: Reborn, the game will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on November 11.

This new version of the game draws up high-definition visuals, updated battle systems and audio improvements that include fully voiced cutscenes in English and Japanese, recreated sound effects and re-recorded live background music by Hitoshi Sakamoto. Additionally, fans can expect an adjusted level management system, reworked AI and a revamped user interface.

Square Enix has also opened pre-orders for Tactics Ogre: Reborn. There’s a digital standard version available across all platforms, with a physical release on PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. A Digital Premium Edition is also available on PS4, PS5 and Steam. The standard edition includes the base game and those who pre-order it will receive a mini digital soundtrack featuring three of the newly recorded tracks.

The Digital Premium Edition features said game and the full Tactics Ogre: Reborn original soundtrack. Anyone who pre-orders Tactics Ogre: Reborn Digital Premium Edition will receive a Tactics Ogre (1995) Digital Mini Soundtrack download code, which includes a selection of ten chiptune songs from the original Tactics Ogre.

Lastly, Square Enix is selling a themed Tarot Card set based on the game. This three piece set is part of the Japan-only Collector’s Edition and includes the card deck, a storage pouch and a mat. It’s available exclusively through the Square Enix online store.
