The DioField Chronicle demo out today, progress carries into full game

A demo version of Square Enix’s upcoming strategy RPG The DioField Chronicle is available today on the PlayStation Store Xbox Games Store, Nintendo eShop, and Steam. Said demo features the entirety of Chapter 1 and will allow you to carry your progress over to the full game, which will release on September 22nd.

DioField Island finds itself caught between warring nations, as it is rich in a material that is used to create magic. The player joins the Blue Fox Mercenaries who fight to protect their homeland from conquering forces in a “gritty and immersive” storyline. The game uses a “Real Time Tactical Battle” system and a top-down perspective, allowing you to maneuver units with unique abilities across a diorama-like battlefield.

The game is built by a team of “skilled and experienced” developers including character designs by Taiki (Lord of Vermilion III, IV), concept art by Isamu Kamikokuryo (Final Fantasy XXII, XIII, XV) and beautifully orchestrated music by world-renowned composers Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell (Gears of War 5).

For those inclined, the game is available now to pre-order, and there’s a Collector’s Edition Set available only at the Square Enix store that includes a themed board game and four pins featuring the coat of arms for each faction. Just know that there’s limited quantities available.
