New Allies & Characters

In the vast reaches of space, on the underdeveloped planet of Aster IV, the war between the Kingdom of Aucerius and the Vey’l Empire rages on. The incursions of the Empire are pushing the Kingdom to its very breaking point. Meanwhile, the intentions of the emperor remain shrouded in mystery. Yet amidst this torrid conflict with the empire, Laeticia reunites with her dear cousin, whom she regards as a brother.

This conflict on a backwater planet soon festers into monumental chaos that will shake the entire galaxy to its core. As our heroes make their way through this infinite universe, a threat of cosmic proportions rears its ugly head. As Raymond and the crew struggle to uncover the real reason for Bennett’s assault on the Ydas, the party discovers an impending sinister plot looming in the shadows. This could lead to the utter annihilation of the galaxy itself…

And in this universe of near-infinite mysteries, one such enigma is the Scorpium. Although recognized as life forms, the Scorpium are neither carbon nor silicon-based. How will these beings impact the stars? And perhaps their existence is already eroding the universe at its core… Truth be told, there are those who gain unfathomable power by integrating with these Scorpium.

Our heroes’ chance meeting with J.J. could be the impetus that redefines the significance of the universe and the importance of human life.

Theo’s weapon of choice is a halberd. With its incredible reach and destructive force, Theo can swiftly pierce through his enemies or cleave hordes in one fell swoop.

This commander in the Aucerian Navy is not limited to short-range combat. Theo also has long-rage skills such as shockwaves and dragon summoning. As a relentless warrior equipped to play any position, he commands the battlefield simultaneously attacking his foes’ surroundings.

Theo’s masterful combat prowess allows him to cut through any opposition.

J.J.

An individual whose body was fully mechanized via integration. Saved by Raymond and the party during an attack on the ship he was aboard.

J.J. favors the katana. He uses two types of swordplay to create his unique combat style. One set of skills features devastating strikes after long perious of buildup; these do not increase his VA gauge. His other set of skills are powerful counters with strict timing requirements; these greatly increase his VA gauge.

J.J.’s surefire way to victory is to counter and increase his VA gauge, blindside the enemy to freeze them in place, then rend them asunder with his blade.

Unlike other allies, J.J. does not float when performing his VA charge. Instead, he can transition between his shield and VA rush with ease to perform attacks that exploit openings in the opposition.

J.J. has honed a very particular fighting style. Once you learn the ins and outs, you will find his astonishing power well worth the effort.

Boss Battles

Along their journey, the party will encounter a wide variety of formidable foes. Though bosses can be daunting, clashing with them is a prime opportunity to unleash all the skills and combos that you have mastered thus far.

Some bosses even have weak points you can target. Attacking a weak point will deal massive damage. Hence, these weak points are often hidden from view.

This is when Elena’s VA Attack is most effective. Use her abilities to analyze the enemy, identify their weak points, and turn the tide of battle. Additionally, some foes have targets that you can destroy. Successfully destroying certain parts of an opponent has many boons. Doing so can weaken them, prevent them from performing specific attacks, or even allow you to blindside them if you previously could not. Even better — you might be able to get your hands on a rare item or two.

Remember: the key to conquering mighty bosses is to determine their weak points and destroyable parts. During their adventure, the party will visit a dungeon dedicated to boss battles called the Den’mohr Delve. Although quite the challenge, you can take on bosses to level up and collect items in a short amount of time.

Battle Tips

Lastly, we’ll introduce a few tricks for battling effectively against any opponent.

Performing an evasive maneuver in time with an enemy’s attack at just the right moment will increase your VA gauge. This is called a well-timed dodge. This action is useful when your VA gauge is nearly gone and you cannot defend with your shield. Although dodging will grant you momentary invincibility, you must beware of leaving yourself open to damage afterward.

As introduced previously, defeating a blindsided enemy in a surprise attack will increase your battle bonuses. Repetition will increase the bonus multiplier even further. You can obtain even greater rewards to enrich your experience by continually performing surprise attacks.
