Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis releases September 7 on mobile patforms

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, a new mobile title that compiles stories from throughout the Final Fantasy VII universe, will release on iOS and Android platforms this September 7th.

Billed as “another possibility for a Remake” the game features a different style of presentation to retell the events of the original FFVII and the subsequent Compilation of Final Fantasy VII titles like Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII. There are also new stories to tell with new characters like Glenn, Matt, and Lucia as Shinra operatives.

Recently, the game conducted a closed beta (you can read our impressions here) in which various stages of the game can be played. Ever Crisis will be available as a free title that has in-app purchases.

Square Enix also shared the results of polling following the Closed Beta Test on their overall thoughts of the game at that stage.

When asked how players would rate the game out of five stars, 40% rated the game 5 stars, 47% rated the game 4 stars, 11% rated the game 3 stars, 1% rated the game 2 stars, and 1% rated the game 1 star.

When asked how likely players would play the game once the full version is released, 78% responded “definitely want to play”, 12% responded “want to play”, 9% responded “want to play if certain points are improved” and 1% responded “do not want to play”.

Square Enix also shared that “due to the high praise for the original story The First Soldier“, a five-star rarity Glenn-exclusive weapon ‘Apology in Hell’ will be given away upon release.

Pre-registration for the game is available through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
